The Entlebucher is not only a faithful watchdog and companion; over his long years of service as a cattle herder and drover, he demonstrated one thing above all: his independence and ability to size up a situation with lightning speed.Yet despite all his keeness and independence, he always likes to be near "his" people.
If you do any obedience training with your Ently, make sure you are always there with him or her, as they will not follow orders given by a stranger, no matter how good the trainer is.
Make sure you and the rest of your family can be ALPHA over your new puppy before you buy an Entlebucher, as they are very intelligent and could become master of you and your family. As any Entle owner will tell you, an Entlebucher is not recommended as your first dog, despite the size they are a whole lot of dog. Good things come in small packages.
The Entlebucher is a high energy dog and needs a lot of stimulating exercise, such as agility training or hide and seek, frisbee and other games.
Once you master your Entlebucher you can be very proud, as you own one of the world's most loyal, most intelligent and most beautiful dogs.
